Top topics currently being discussed by youth at the recent 2023 Forbes Under 30 Summit October 8-11 in Cleveland, Ohio: cannabis, food, social media, music and the mental pandemic. The last topic needs a separate discussion. This year, the most talented entrepreneurs and game-changers, leaders in their fields, gathered in the city that produced the world's first billionaire.
Thousands of visitors had the opportunity to hear from the best — and some of the youngest — millionaire. 4 days to communicate and make meaningful connections.
"Networking is really the key to building a successful business," - Austin Russell, who became the youngest billionaire in the world at the age of 25, said at the summit.
He wasn't the only one with insider tips on how young entrepreneurs can grow their businesses.
Case in point, Matt Rife, a Forbes Best Creator who went from being a comedian to now earning $25 million a year, according to Forbes estimates. He took listeners through his 12-year journey, most of which was defined by the unknown.
The summit hosted a Pitch Competition where five entrepreneurs presented their best ideas with a prize of US$300,000. Jaime Castro, co-founder of a mental health platform called Selia that aims to connect the Hispanic community with Spanish-speaking therapists, won over the judges with a speech that shed light on how many Latinos go without mental health services each year.
We have collected the main points that, in our opinion, can be useful for Ukrainian business and young entrepreneurs:
• Go for ambition through content. If you have ambitions to make money, and they are followed by content, then try to switch their places. First, think about what it will mean for society, people, what benefit your business will bring to others, then you will achieve your ambitions faster.
• Start your business or business as early as possible. Most of the participants on the Forbes 30/30 list started their business in college or high school. Most of the young speakers of the summit developed their business for 11-12 years.
• Find what you loved as a child, it will give you a base to push off and always return to that foundation.
• Most of the young millionaires, who previously earned money on shows, social networks, and YouTube channels, are currently investing in production.
• Any failure is an incentive for success and something better. Each failure will contribute additional resources to the goal. (We plan to write a separate post about this on our Telegram channel https://t.me/womansvoice).
• Attract money where you can, don't expect a lot of money right away. Apply for small grants as well. There is no small money.
• Don't be greedy. Lift as much as you need. Taking more and taking less is greed. Some startups do not take money at the start, because they think that they will grow so that they will be worth a lot, but sometimes these moments do not come.
• If you want to be influential or successful, find the hardest problem and tackle it.
• Choose a direction. Even small steps in the right direction will lead to results. From the lowest point to success, it means doing what you love, looking for different ways. If something doesn't work, do it differently, but always move in the direction you've chosen. Often people change the direction, but in fact it may be about the ways of achievement.
