Carrie Timko Santos is a seasoned expert with a distinguished career dedicated to improving the lives of people, particularly those affected by natural disasters and armed conflicts. She has held significant leadership roles in globally recognized organizations, where she has consistently demonstrated her expertise in strategic management, organizational development, and crisis response.
Carrie has been responsible for nonprofit budgets of over $110 million, staff of 150 and offices in more than 20 countries in leadership roles for the American Red Cross Carrie recently served as CEO of Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO), a global business network of 16,000+ leading entrepreneurs in 220+ chapters and 60+ countries. In 2023-24, Carrie was deployed to Warsaw, Poland, where she played a pivotal role in strengthening the Red Cross's strategic communications and fundraising capacities across Central Europe, ensuring the sustainability and impact of their operations. Her ability to build and enhance organizational capacities in challenging environments underscores her expertise in strategic communications, capacity building, and sustainable development.
Carrie has a PhD in Political Science from University of California, Berkeley focusing on international politics in former Soviet countries and she was a Fulbright Association Scholar in Poland. She speaks Polish and Russian and is learning Ukrainian.
In addition to her humanitarian and organizational leadership, Carrie is a staunch advocate for women’s leadership in Ukraine. She actively supports the development of women’s entrepreneurship, contributing to the economic empowerment of women and the overall economic development of the country.
